The Tile Sport is finally here! Tile’s standard series of bluetooth GPS trackers have been popular for a few years now and over time there have been some new editions introduced. The Tile Mate was the second and most popular version of the bluetooth GPS tracker that was marketed as a way to help you find your lost keys. It is the most popular bluetooth GPS tracker on the market. Since then, the Tile Slim and Tile Style have also arrived – giving users a thinner option or a flashier design. When working on our review, we came across a lot of new features that the Pro series has to offer.
The Tile Pro Series
The Tile Pro Series was introduced right as the Tile Slim began to rise in popularity. The Tile Style was described as a “perfect blend of form and function.” It worked well and is still a popular tracker and the only real downside is that it only comes in one color (“white and champagne”). Both the Tile Sport and Style are IP68 waterproof, which means they can spend about 30 minutes in water that is about 9 feet deep. I doubt you can hear it ring underwater, though!
How the Tile Sport Works
The Tile Sport works just like the other versions of Tile trackers. It allows you to ring your Tile from your phone or ring your phone from your Tile. It also allows you to see the last place your Tile was seen. You also have a “Notify Me When Found” option. The Tile Sport is no different than the Tile Style in the functionality department. It is, however, quite an improvement from the Tile Mate and Slim series.
Tile Sport vs. Tile Mate
The popularity of bluetooth GPS trackers is bound to cause confusion about the differences between the Tile Sport and the other trackers that Tile offers. The main difference is the durability of the Tile Sport. The Tile Sport is rugged and waterproof and is a superb tracking device for keys, cameras, bags, and other items that might need extra travel protection.
Where it shines is its durability. It is about 2.5mm larger in length and width compared to the Tile Style. Not much, right? However, compared to the Tile Mate it is about 6mm larger in length and width. Not significantly larger, but still larger. Range is also a huge factor with Bluetooth devices. I’m not proud of it, but there’s been many times that I have been forced to walk around my house or outisde, frantically pressing the “Find” button on my phone because my keys aren’t showing up on my map. The Tile Sport now doubles the range of the Tile Mate. It is now up to 200ft!
The Best GPS Bluetooth Tracker on the Market?
The Tile Sport series could very well be the best bluetooth GPS tracker I have tried yet. It is durable, waterproof, and stylish. Perhaps the most import thing for me is the increased range. When testing this device, it showed up on the map consistently and the material feels like it could endure the apocalypse. After reviewing both trackers in the Pro series, I kind of consider the Tile Sport to be a different color alternative to the Tile Style. They have the same functional specs and the only real difference is the material used on the Tile Sport. Right now you can buy a two pack of both.
I consider this to be the current best buy if you’re looking for a pair of small GPS bluetooth trackers. You can also just buy the Tile Sport 2 Pack on Amazon.
